Review (014) The Perfect Bride for Mr. Darcy by Mary Lydon Simonsen
Book Description
If the two of them weren't so stubborn...
It's obvious to Georgiana Darcy that the lovely Elizabeth Bennet is her brother's perfect match, but Darcy's pigheadedness and Elizabeth's wounded pride are going to keep them both from the loves of their lives.
Georgiana can't let that happen, so she readily agrees to help her accommodating cousin, Anne de Bourgh, do everything within their power to assure her beloved brother's happiness.
But the path of matchmaking never runs smoothly...

Review: Is it just me or are there a ton of branch offs from Pride and Prejudice?
In this version we see some secondary characters coming to light as well as some great character development. Ms. Simonsen made other adjustments to the story as well, which proved to work for her. I would have preferred a more balanced book, with different areas getting most of an equal treatment and others not being so drawn out.
However, I was thankful that it wasn't the same Pride and Prejudice slapped into another book. This book is still a great addition to any of us that appreciate P & P and the variety that's being offered in later versions. Personally, I've thought of reworking Gone With the Wind--I'm just not certain I'd do it justice.
